S= summer, W=winter. The former is less stroke than the latter. Set the stroke in the postion that eliminates any hestiation upon acceleration. Start at S, and if you have a hestation, move the link. The idea was to provide a richer mixture in cold weather. My '47 prefers the long stroke, so I leave it there year around. This message was edited by supereal on 5-19-12 @ 1:28 PM
