Look in a parts manual. They are all specified.

You will need a chassis parts manual for the 49 Ford, and even then, it can be difficult to find the correct size and finish of the bolts. There are 8 P/Ns for hardware under the fender for 1949, with no description of where they fit. That may not be all of the fasteners that you may need.

You will also need a copy of the Standard Parts catalog that includes the 49 car. This catalog will give you drawings of the bolts, nuts, cotter pins, washers and clips.

I would try to find a 49 car that has been restored and judged by the V-8 Club and take lots of photos with notes on the sizes and finish. If you can find a Rouge car (one that has been judged 90% original ) that would be even better.
