Topic: Spring maintanence on 39 Tudor, need help

  So i'm doing some basic maintanence on my 39 Tudor Deluxe here before I start driving it this season and I have a few questions. Now before I ask i'll clarify i'm new to working on this car so many questions will be simple, and I do not yet have the 39 restoration manual because winter is really slow at work and I simply won't have the money to buy it until I'm caught up. So on to my questions!

First off, there are a ton of grease points i've noticed while rolling around under the car. Is there any online resource that lists all of them so I can get them all without missing any?

Next is in regards to the oil change. I simply can't find a wrench big enough for the huge plug in the oil pan in my tool box. My 1 1/2 socket doesn't even come close. Am I missing something here? The gigantic plug underneath is the way to get the oil to drain right? And if so what do I need to buy to twist this thing with?

Lastly, other then greasing everything, changing the oil and cleaning the air filter what else should be done on a yearly basis? And how often should I change the transmission fluid? (luckily the plug in that is a reasonable size!)

  The drain plug on the engine oil pan takes a two inch wrench. The original tool kit that came with the car had an adjustable wrench that would fit it. You can probably purchase a two inch adjustable wrench at a hardware store.

  The diagram of all of the grease and oil service points on your car are in the 39 Owners Manual. It can be purchased from C & G Ford parts and other vendors for around $10.

You should change your oil every 1,000 miles, not just once a year. At the same time, you should grease all of the fittings, lubricate the generator, distributor, carb pivot points, door hinges and door latches. You should also check the level of the fluids in the steering box, master cylinder, transmission and differential.

At 5,000 miles you should change the transmission and differential lube, service the air cleaner, lube the distributor cam and check the brake fluid for moisture.

At 10,000 miles you should repack both the front and rear wheel bearings and flush the brake fluid. Do not grease any fitting found by the rear wheels, just the center fitting for the spring.

The above schedule is based on driving about 2,000 to 3,000 miles a year.

Ford also recommended that sediment be drained from the fuel pump and carburetor every 5,000 miles. The fuel pump screen should be cleaned at this time.
