Can anybody tell me the correct lengths of the front and rear brake rods for a 1934 Ford? Thankyou.

Do you mean just the rods without the clevis?

  Yes, just the rods.

The green book sdays that the front rods are 50 7/8". They were replaced by a somewhat longer rod, 51 7/16", but the book says that they should be cut to length. The rear rods are described as 61 3/8".

Thank you supereal. My original front rods are about 51 3/4" and the rears are about 61 5/8" but they are not in good condition. I got new front rods I believe from MAC's a few years ago and one measures 51 1/2" and the other 52". I'm restoring my car to original and going back to the mechanical brakes. The car had juice brakes when I got it many years ago. I'm adjusting the brakes and the front rods seem too long, even at 52 1/2". I have a Ford oldtimer coming over tomorrow and he's going to help me out. Maybe I'll post again to say how we made out. Thanks again!

Sorry, I made a typo in my last post. It should have been the front rods seem too long, even at 51 1/2". Your Green Book measurement of 50 7/8" may work better for me.

There was a change in rods between '32 and '34 that required shortening the replacement rods.. As long as they allow the adjustment a full range, you should be able to choose the best for your car.
