on the top of my v8 are the numbers C46433 underneath is 59 to my knowledge the 59 is most likely a 1945 but all the books always say 59 A or B or both any clarity would be helpful Don granger in Friday Harbor

Don, The number 59 with or without a suffix letter will be found on the top of the bell of '45 - '48 blocks. Canadian blocks will also have a C prefix. In addition, if the heads are original, they will have a 59 with or without an A, or an AB. The C in your other number most likely does not mean Canadian block, but rather just a casting number. Alan
