You are out of luck. The drag link for the '34 goes back and forth along the axis of the car and the drag link for the '37-'39 goes across to the right spindle. The '37-'39 boxes are a good fix for the '36 (maybe also "35) since they are a better design. Some guys use the steering from an early fifties pick up in the '34's (and all the way back to the Model A's). You might search the archives on fordbarn.com for information about using the pick up box (it is not a direct bolt in without modifying the box)

On my 32 Pickup, I used a 56 PU steering, and the modifications were:
1. Shorten the steering shaft, and re-machine to match early style tapered wheel.
2. Drill one hole in frame for 3rd mounting box bolt location, which is not located
where the 32 box mounting hole was. The other 2 lined-up just fine.
3. Install column lock sleeve on steering shaft in original 32 location.
4. The original 32 pitman arm installed without modification, as the "blind spline"
location is the same.

This made a BIG improvement in steering effort. The problem with doing this today,
is that I made this change in 1958, and one could stillfind a 52 steering box at any salvage yard that wasn't worn out, or even an NOS unit. The challenge today would be finding a suitable early 50's PU box that doesn't need rebuilding.
