Where can a guy get the M4664 type grease or it's replacement ? The auto stores think I'm nuts ( I might be ? ) I have read where the new slick grease will not work very good ?

NAPA is where I bought the proper wheel bearing grease I believe especially for the rear wheel bearings. StaLub STL-SL3131. It is the old fashioned stringy fiber stuff.

That is the only type of grease to be used in old Ford wheel bearings. The fibers allow the grease to be pulled thru the bearings as they rotate. Use of any other type of grease will result in damage to the bearing surface of the axle housings. Most, if not all, the greases listed in the old owner's manuals are now obsolete. There are acceptable modern lubes available, but avoid synthetics, aa they are designed for close tolerance applications, and our old Fords have, by comparison, very wide clearances that will not survive on an oil film alone.
