I recently bought and refurbished an oil bath air cleaner for a 1947 Ford. I found what appears to be a broken cork gasket that fits inside the collar on the underside of the air cleaner. By my estimate I would say the gasket is 2 1/2 inches outside diameter, 2 1/4 inches inside diameter and about 3/16 inches thick. I have attached a photo showing where the gasket goes and the broken gasket itself. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find a gasket like this? Thank you for any help anyone can provide. You can cut a gasket from material available at a good parts store such as NAPA. An easier solution is a big O ring.

I don't think that the gasket is necessary. Most air cleaners do not have them. Tom

A cork gasket is original and made sure all air came thru the filter and also would slightly reduce air noise leaking in (whistle). As, Bob said, go to Napa and buy their gasket kit of all materials from cork to composition and cut your own. John
