whatever happened to the '37 club coupes? I know they were a low production car but if I see a club its usually a '38. They produced more '37s than they ever did '38 clubs. Just wondering why you don't see many.

I think it depends on where you are looking for them. They show up at shows here periodically on the west coast. If you live in the "rust belt" area I suspect you won't see too many of them as the rust took it's toll on them. I have owned both a 37 and 38 club coupe. They built twice as many 37's as they did 38's. When I had mine there were two other guys in my town that also had a 37 club coupe.

The FORD CHRONICLE book shows the 1937 production total for the club coupe as 16,992. The number for 1938 is shown as 7,171. In 1937, the total Ford production was 929,390, so the club coupe was certainly a fraction of the '37s made. Ford billed the club coupe as an alternative for the rumble seat cars. The body was made by Murray, when Ford was preparing to produce their own. The club coupe configuration lived on as the "sedan coupe". By 1948, the sedan coupe production was 44,826, while the most popular model, the tudor, shows 82,161, followed by the fordor, at 71,358 that year. Even though that was considerably less than the 70,826 sedan coupes in '46, and the 80,830 in '47, It was still among the most popular with the buyers.
