Topic: 1937 Ford Phaeton - color

I had been on the forum to discuss this before. Basically, the 1937 purchase receipt of my car (inherited along with the vehicle) states "Green tourer". In effect it is a 1937 Ford V8 Phaeton built by Ford of Canada for export to India - a rare Right Hand Drive example.

The 37 book and the refurbishing guide both states Dalmation green and Bright Vineyard green as the correct greens for 1937.

However, the original paint chips that I managed to scr*pe off the B column seem to indicate a darker shade more akin to what we recognized today as British Racing Green i.e. like what was used on older Jaguars and Bentleys. Looking at the refurbishing guide the chip seems to be much closer to Tropical Green or Dartmouth Green i.e. somewhere in between.

Now if I was to bring the car (originally purchased by my great great grandmother) to Dearborn in the US all the way from India, how would its color be judged given that it was an export car ?

On the one hand I want to score well - our restoration has taken years and I believe we will be ready in the next 4 months. On the other hand, I think that true originality might mean not only sticking to green as I have an original purchase receipt to prove that the car was green but also to the paint chip and not to the Bright Vineyard Green that is listed as "correct" for 1937.

Help in understanding the view judges might take of an export car built by Ford of Canada would be much appreciated.
