Topic: Window glass replacement 1940 Ford

I am in the process of replacing the glass in the roll-up front windows in my coupe. The old glass, I am taking out was held in place with a rubber cement that required breaking the glass and chipping the bits out of the channel. What should I use to hold the new glass in place? Should I use a rubber cement or some other type of sealer or cement? Where can it be purchased?
Thanks,

What seemed like rubber cement was probably aged glass setting tape. That tape is what should be used installing your new glass. It is available in different thicknesses from Drake, and others.
To determine the thickness required, measure the width of the channel, subtract the thickness of the glass and divide that number in one-half.
If you are doing only one piece of glass, there is little reason to buy an entire roll (+ shipping). I'd suggest you try your local glass shop for the tape. Most likely they will give you the required amount.
