I've started installing a gas tank which is a tight fit and I haven't gotten it in yet. But the next challenge will be putting on the gas filler neck hose. It looks like the hose fits really tight. I'm sure there is an easy way or helpful way to install it, with some persuasion. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Check the replacement to see that it isn't longer than the original. Most hoses are cut from stock, and may be too long to install easily. As with radiator hoses, it helps to warm the hoses so they can be bent enough to ease them on to the tubes. If you don't have a heat gun, soak them in hot water until they are pliable.

In addition to Supereal suggestions, it will help to have a rubber friendly lubricant available. The script replacement hoses are just about 1/16" smaller than they used to be, making it very difficult to force over the tank opening and then the filler neck. The job is much easier to do if the fender is off. Tom

Lube the inside of the hose with a little bit of engine oil or Marvel Mystery oil.
