  Hello,
I am new to the site and I am tring to establish a value on a rebuilt v8-60 3 speed trans? It was dis-assembled de-greased & cleaned, the case was media blasted & oiled with wd-40,the cluster gear was missing teeth so it was replaced with a new(NOS)cluster gear,it was re-assembled with a new gasket kit and a new (NOS) rear universal joint. the trans shifter was cut off (?) so it needs a shift lever, the case is nice with no cracks. I would think someone restoring a vehical ethat needed a trans could use it? what would you say a reasonable resale value would be? I had it for a project but now I am going another direction and would like to sell it.
any info or suggestions would be great.
thanks
paul

Paul, go to the main page of this site and go to the links section. Click on "Friends" and go to The Ford V-8 Flathead-VanPelt Sales. Mac Van Pelt is a transmission guy and he can probably help you establish the value.

I sold one on eBay a couple of years ago. It was 100% rebuilt and detailed. VERY low interest... it brought shy of $200. Problem is few folks restore 60HP cars so the demand is very low. If they do need work done on their transmission parts (NOS) are plentiful and cheap enough that repairing what they have usually is the most efficient way to go.

thanks for the reply's, I emailed vanpelts but have not heard back yet from them. I was looking to sell it for around $200 just like you stated you got in your earlier ebay sale. thats what i have into it , not looking to get rich just hoping to move it out of my garage.
