First time poster here, hope I can get some assistance. First off, my name is Jason and I live in western NC. I purchased a flathead V8 today from someone and he said it came out of a 1950 Ford coupe, I saw the vehicle and wrote the number off of the cowl, it's NRC7054020A1316, can you anyone help me to confirm if the VIN is correct? Also, the block has a J1223 on it and I'm not sure what that means and the transmission has 8A-7651-B on it,not sure what that tells me but would like to know. Thanks and God bless.

Appears to be correct for a early 50. NR - norfolk Va assembly plant, C70 - custom deluxe tudor sedan, 5 - Paint Sheridan Blue,40 - Upholstry Custom deluxe broadcloth, 20A - assembly date Jan 20, 1316 - unit production number. Engine block date codes are on the leftside of the flat where the intake manifold mounts - probably have to take the intake off and clean it up to find it - should be a letter (month) followed by a number (day) followed by a letter (year)

grandpasshoebox, thanks for the info. I appreciate knowing the history as well as having validation where it came from. Thanks again.
