HI These seem to me that these are FRONT SHOCKS, I need help identifying these shocks,shock links have part numbers 99-A-18055 The shocks have 2108 A and 6-D-1 on the covers,have not have fully cleaned them, so these are the only numbers I have found, they also have the same mounting holes as a 1937 1938 1939 1940 1941 FORD, seems to me the links are a lot longer, I have never seen shocks like this on a FORD, but came out of a collection that a guy was restoring a 1939 1940 MERCURY,so thinking these are MERCURY'S HELP ME OUT,!!! thanks 37RAGTOPMAN

I'm no Merc expert, but those shocks look like Delco brand replacements for Ford or Mercury. This message was edited by trjford8 on 12-8-09 @ 7:28 AM

Wasn't there a shock called "Lovejoy shocks" or Delco/Lovejoy shocks? If I recall correctly, they are very desirable shocks and superior to the standard Ford shock.

hi I cleaned the shocks a little more and found DELCO, and DAYTON made in USA. so I assume that these are the DELCO LOVEJOY SHOCKS, are these accessary shocks or were installed by the FORD FACTORY, I always thought that DELCO was a GENERAL MOTORS CO, whats the scoop , on this,? thanks for you help 37RAGTOPMAN

In the old days these companies not only supplied major manufacturers, but they made parts for the aftermarket industry. They probably sold as many parts to the aftermarket industry as they did with the major manufacturers. It's still done today, but now the parts come from anywhere but the U.S.!
