We use Bob's Speedometer. www.bobsspeedometer.com. Not cheap, but good, and will give you an estimate before the work.

You don't have to change it to 12 volts. Been running mine for years on 12.

One of the best things to do with an electrical wound clock is to have it converted to a quartz movement with its own battery. That reduces the need to disconnect the clock when not in use to prevent running the car battery down if you don't have a master shutoff switch. Plus, they are much more accurate.

The clock wasn't working on "Bertha" when we got her in 1976, it took 'til 85 before I was brave enough to take it out. Carefully bent the bezel open and found the wire had come loose at the winder. Re-soldered with a hot nail in a vice-grip.....been working ever since. (battery disconnected during storage). Bob "it's only original once""
