Topic: Fuel Pump

I have read a couple post's here about the new gas destroying the diaphragm in the pumps. I know my 33's pump is having problems but I have a 6v pump back by the tank so flip the switch and I am running.
Does anyone make a new fuel safe re-build kit? And if the diaphragm fails will fuel be pumped into the crankcase (Like it can on the Chevy OHV motor?).
I have no problem running the electric I was just wondering if the pressurized fuel is staying in the pump then to the carb. as needed, and not diluting the oil.

Thanks,
Chris

If the diaphram ruptures, gas will fill the crankcase. Ken Isadore in Ct rebuilds pumps with ethanol safe parts and maybe Charlie Schwindler in NY.

You can buy a rebuild kit from a good vendor like C&G for about $20. Lots of problems developed when alcohol was added to gas, and many vendors still sold non-nitrile kits that were on the shelves. Buy these parts from a high volume vendor to be sure they are "fuel proof". If unsure, ask, and tell them that if they are wrong, they will have to replace the parts.
