Topic: window channel kits

I'm installing door glass in my 1937 Ford 2 dr sedan. Car has nothing in the doors, so I'm needing everything for the window glass channels and guides. Not even sure exactly what I need, since everything is missing. Does the upper channel run completely over the top of the glass inside the door? I've seen a number of channel kits advertised on the internet, but the pictures aren't very clear as to what exactly is in the "kit".

Appreciate any help. Thanks Bob

Hi Bob, I can't speak directly to the '37 door, but I suspect is is very similar to my '38. The only channel is below the window line on each side of the glass. The fuzzy strips are attached to the door side of the window frame and to the garnish molding. The is no channel going up and over the glass in the door. In my car the original fuzzies were attached with wire staples and the kit came with small metal screws to attach the new pieces.

Go to www.cgfordparts.com and look at page 285 for kits and information. I'd order the stainless steel trimmed kit. It is only about ten bucks more, and will stay bright. Many cars used staples to hold the parts. Some kits are supplied with small screws. We use small pop rivets. When in place, they all are hidden. If you are a purist, and want staples, you will have to make them yourself for most kits.
