Topic: 36 coupe roof "oversert" not insert

OK. I know it's not "purist" restoration but you might look at my fiberglass roof "oversert". I did not want to cut any metal off my original Henry body and I'm not partial to the regular ragtop insert.

I made a mold of the roof and then layed up about 1/8 inch of fiberglass. It's bonded with butly caulk to the rubber gasket that fits into roof opening.

I sanded the gasket down (but not quite as much as I should have) so there's about a 1/8 gap to the metal. I'm too lazy to pull it off and redo the gasket.

Most "lookers" think it's a sunroof until they look inside. Hot rodders could use this to put in a sunroof. I have the mold if anybody's interested.

My next project will be a flip up rumble seat. I have a fiberglass trunk lid that I can swap out for the metal one that I'll be able to lift off when I want to use it as a rumble. NO the metal lid is NOT for sale.

I'm trying to attach images but after I "browse" there's not button to "upload" ???????
