Topic: Lesson learned: I hope.

I have been restoring my 1950 ford for about 3 years now, and have reached the point of installing the interior door panel and trim. I thought I would relate a learning event that you more experinced restorers will get a chuckle and serve as a warning for newbies learning the hard way. In installing the metal window-trim on the doors it is wise to have the window all the way down. I had installed 2 of the 4 window trim panels and as I tightened the third glass-trim panel the window developed a very impressive stress-fracture; yes, the window glass was in the close (up) position. My new rule is to never install window trim unless the window is down. Now I get to gain new experience; i.e. how to intall a new door window glass without (hopefully) another expensive lesson. Nevertheless this project has been a leanning and rewarding effort.

A few more mistakes will qualify you as an expert on 1950 Fords. I can't list all of the dumb things that I did.
