Topic: 1951 Ford Convertible Interior Trim Color

Ima    -- 11-03-2011 @ 1:08 PM
Just after passing on my 50 years of collecting Ford Manuals and Catalogs I have been asked a question from a friend that I could have answered myself but now I an unable to.

What color is the interior trim when the exterior color is Rangoon red?

Thanks in Advance

  Ima,

You may have a problem getting the answer on this site as very few of us have information on the 49-53 cars. The best place to get an answer would be the V-8 Club Adviser for the 49-51. The next best place would be the Shoebox forum.

I suggest that you contact LeBaron Bonney Company if someone here doesn't jump in and answer.

Funny, I used to have a Rangoon red '51 convertible but I can't remember what color the interior was. Sorry.

I asked my brother, who bought a new Rangoon Red 51 vert in 51, and he couldn't remember either. I'm thinking it was sort of a metallic beige, but the last time I saw it was 54 years ago when he traded it on a 57 Country Sedan. I remember the top was black, and the seats were red leather w/black trim, but I can't remember the dash color.

Don Gibson in RG149 would likely know the answer to your question. He is a serious 1951 Ford collector and restorer. His phone number is on page 174 of the 2011 Roster.

I know Don and if anybody would know he would. He has about every model of 51 produced, all beautiful cars.
