Looks like the front seat in my 36 Cabriolet is a smidge too wide. It won't clear the brackets for the parcel barrier behind it. What's the best thickness of plywood to use to build the ends of the seat, so the seat will clear everything as it slides back and forth? Thanks, in advance.... Larry Lange Puget Sound Regional Group

I have a 33 cabriolet. I had a coupe seat and it was too wide for the cabriolet. I ordered a cabriolet seat and the sides were made of 5/8 plywood. I sold my coupe seat but I think it was 3/4 thick. Now the repro cab seat (which was narrower than the coupe seat) was still too wide. So I cut down the back wood about 1/2 inch at the top tapering to the normal width at the bottom so the sides would fit into the package space.

Larry: My 35 Cabriolet original seat sides were 9/16 thick. The rear most edge of the wood is tapered starting 1 1/2" from the edge from the full thickness to a final thickness of 3/8" thick at the very final rear edge. Just the outside of the wood is tapered not the seat side.
