Topic: stainless valves?

Are any of the new supply 49-53 type straight stem valves pure stainless as oppossed to a non-metalic with some nickel content?
And does it matter? Thanks!

I'm not sure of the purity or alloy content of stainless valves, but at our shop we do use them in rebuilds with straight stems. I am not familiar with "non metallic" valves. The biggest problem with valves is finding some of quality similar to the original Ford parts.. While stainless valves may seem like overkill, we have had no problems with them. The one piece guides with seals are a definite improvement over the split type, in any case.

After I exhausted my supply of NOS valves I've used nothing but stainless valves in my rebuilds. I have never had a problem with them.
Like Supereal, I always use solid guides and straight valves as they are a definite improvement over the earlier type (split guides, "mushroom" valves).
