Topic: 1937 Ford radio receiver ID

I have what I think is the correct 37 Ford radio receiver,it is a Philco with the Model number inside as F-1440. The reproduced 37 Ford installation manual I bought refers to Model F-1442. The 37 Ford restoration book shows the one I have closed car but also refers to the F-1442 one, without explaining that one is early mayby or a better receiver is the later one. I don't think open and closed is the answer as receiver should be same only speaker location. Do I have the correct one for a 37 Ford coupe? Or should I look for the 1442 Model? Thank You

  37 Coupe,

Try this website:

http://www.radiomuseum.org/m/philco_usa_en_3~model.html

For the F-1440 Model click on this link:

The F-1440 radio you have is correct for your car.
