The fuel line/sender line unit combo, is it available anywhere? How did the sender unit work, is it a hollow line or did it have a core inside? Greg Meiling 1935 3 Window Coupe

both the fuel line and the hydrostatic air line are hollow. The gas tank unit provides a small amount of air pressure through the air line and the dash gauge read and reacts to the air pressure.

gmcbuffalo, I don't know where to get a combo line. The kits I had were just the very small copper tube, fittings and liquid to go in the dash gage on my '35. It is a hydrostatic unit. The system uses trapped air in the small copper tube from the sending unit mounted on the tank to the dash unit. There should be nothing in the tube but air. Also, be sure the dash gage doesn't leak the red fluid. When assembled, the air is expelled through the small copper line to be sure it is clear, red liquid is placed in the dash unit to "zero" (empty mark), tighten up fittings and then fuel is put back into the tank. The system (sending unit, tube connections and dash unit) must be air tight. Works good. You can tell if it is tight and has no leaks when the red fuel indicator liquid holds its mark in the dash gage. If the system leaks a very little, the system will recharge the air by sloshing around as you drive. Mine can sit for weeks and I can't see any movement of the liquid in the dash unit. The little access panel under the rumble seat lets you get to the sending unit and its tube connection at the tank. I think it is easier to drain the fuel out of the tank and then hook it up. That way when you put a couple gallons of gas in the tank it should register on the gage. When it holds you can go ahead and fill it up. Ken in Texas
