There are two holes in the steering column tube where the lock is located. One big and one small 180 degrees apart on the tube. One hole for the lock to slide in. Which hole to use and the purpose of second hole?? Have a idea but not sure. Thanks

The hole opposite of the lock slide system is a locator for the lock housing on the tube.

The bolt that attaches the housing at the split, passes through and overlaps the inside diameter of the tube itself.

If you install the bolt into the housing you will see the overlap.

Thanks.

Small hole or large hole for lock mechanism?

The large hole is for the lock plunger and the small hole locates using the mounting bolt.
