Can anyone tell me at around what serial number did the sedans change from a slope back to a trunk style in 1936.

Thanks

Both styles were available throughout the 36 model year. It was the convertible sedan that changed from slant back to trunk back in the mid 36 model year.

Unfortunately Ford did not attach much significance to their serial numbers until the early '50's. The only thing that an early Ford number will reveal is the approximate month that the car/truck was built.
The serial number contains no clue as to the plant of origin, body style, standard, delux, power train, etc.
During the early V8 years, the serial number was assigned to the engine/trans combo when they were assembled, just prior to being shipped to the vehicle assembly plant.
Bodies that came from a supplier, i.e. Murray, Briggs, etc., had body numbers, Ford in house built bodies did not generally have body numbers.
Since the original question was pertaining to the '36 model year, there can be some variation to the later serial numbers.
