I disconnected my tie rod and the tie rod ends seem very stiff. The part that comes out of the tie rod end with the threaded end is very hard to move. Is that the way it should be or should that part move easily? Thanks in advance . dansford

Brand new ones can be VERY stiff. Once they have been lubed and operated on the car some they will loosen some. However, even used ones can be somewhat stiff { indicating they are in good shape }. As long as they can be moved without binding I would say they are o.k.

Dan, as 40 guy said the ends have a certain amount of resistance. If they move too easily or feel "sloppy" they are worn to a point thsy should be changed.
