Can anyone tell me what to look for as an alternative to an original 1937 Ford radio speaker? Was it round as it may look so in 37 book? or What dimensions would work ? As in the holes for mounting spacing or orientation? Also what OHMS should I be looking for?Have been looking for an original for a guide with no luck so far.Thank You for any help. I can give you some almost dead on approximate dimensions. It's an oval 9 1/4" long 6 1/2" wide mounting holes are 6 1/2" C/C and 4 3/4" C/C. The speaker i'm giving you the dimensions from is a "MAGNADYNE" U694 4 OHM. This one is a new replacement for a later '50s Fairlane.It was given to me and it's yours if you want it. Most old car radio speakers are either 4 or 8 ohm impedance. It is important to know if the frame of the speaker is grounded to one side or the other of the connection so you don't produce a short that can damage your receiver. Some are "floating", while others depend on a ground to the frame to work properly.
