DOES anyone know of any replacement brake drums in the works for 37 to 39 wide 5's? I have a few extra rears but need fronts as mine are at max and haven't been able to find any good used ones.I'm not a purest so 37,38,or 39 is OK.
Thanks , Don

  Hi Don
I was at CW Moss in Orange, CA a few weeks ago and saw several used wide 5 drums there. 714-639-3083

As the owner of a 38, I'm always interested in good brake drums, as they are an item that we simply cannot source in the aftermarket.

To expand your search, you might consider posting a "Parts Wanted" ad in our classified section.
Just be sure to ignore postings from London that state that they have "Just what you want" but require payment only by money order.

If you find a giant cache of wide-five drums, please tell us!

Don & Dan, There are more of these available than you might think. Hotrodders and others who convert to juice brakes go for the '40 or later drums, not the wide fives. Sometimes a real bargain can be had from those guys.

I'd try a specialist such as MT Car products www.mtcarproducts.com I've seen wide circle drums at swap meets, but most were very rusty pieces of junk. The important thing to check is the inside diameter, as many of those old drums have been cut or worn well past the limit of safety.

I called MT products today and they have been looking for a vendor to make them. Nothing solid but at least it's in discussion.
