What is the proper way to adjust the brakes on my 46? SID

Jack up the car so the wheels turn freely. Inside the backing plate toward the top you will see 2 hex head "adjusters". Put a wrench on them and slowly pull them Down while turning the wheel until the wheel stops. Loosen slighty till it spins again. Do this on both adjusters. You will be turning the eccentrics inside the drum to move the brake shoe closer to the drum. Do this to all 4 wheels. With your 11/16" wrench, turn the adjusters on the backing plate down until the wheel is fully locked to seat the shoes, then back both off until the shoes clear the drum. Then, one at a time, turn the adjusters until the shoes just touch the drum, no more. When you have completed the adjustment on all wheels, inspect the master cylinder fluid level, and replenish as needed, and check the pedal for at least an inch of free play. If you have a problem adjusting the rear brakes, be sure the parking brake is fully released. After adjusting the brakes, you make need to readjust the parking brake to get full use.
