Topic: question on 4 cylinder 1933 restoration manual

Doctor's Ford    -- 06-16-2011 @ 7:51 PM
Hello everyone. I´m new to the forum and to Ford world. Just found this 1933 Tudor sedan with a 4 cyl engine. The car is in Paraguay and was assembled in Uruguay (South America). It is a R hand drive. Need to know if the information on the V-8 Restoration Manual will apply to this 4 cylinder engine car (I mean everything except the engine of course). Are parts readily available for this model?
Hope someone can provide this info. I´have committed to buy the car and I'am ready to begin restoration. Thank you

Welcome! Yes, four bangers are welcome, and share most of the V8 body and chassis parts. Your car will have some rarer parts, but most of us can help you become familiar with reliable sources.

I don't believe there were any assembly plants in South America. Your car would have been assembled in Canada, as that was the Ford Export source for South America. Looks like you've found a real gem there, a very straight looking car. Other than those parts which make your car a right hand drive, you'll find that everything else is available right here Stateside, and yes, the 33'-34' book available on this website covers your car, but for those parts specific to right hand drive.

Is there an early Ford Club in Canada as well? If my car was assembled in Canada for export to South America, they may be a good resource as well.
I tried to upload a few more pictures for your review. What is the official model name for a 4 cylinder 2 door sedan from 1933? Is this a model B or what? Thank you

There are Early Ford V-8 regional groups in Canada, but the are part of the Early For V-8 Club of America. If you are in South America there is an Early Ford V-8 Club regional group in Argentina. They have a contact number of 54-11-4371-8046. They have an e-mail contact number of; cdatellis@yahoo.com.ar. Jorge Otano Pinero is the president of the club. This club puts out a very nice magazine. It's a very active group. By the way that is a great find on the 33.
