Topic: 1953 Pickup Turn Signal Wiring

I have a 1953 or 1954(?) steering column from a pickup with turn signal wiring. I'm using this to modify my '47 Merc steering column to have turn signals. (Will get rid of the ugly after market turn signal that clamps to the steering column.) What I don't have is a wiring diagram to tell me what the various colored wires are used for. So here's my question: can anyone direct me to a wiring diagram or tell me what the following colored wires are used forv(6 total wires):
orange, white, blue, 3 green (of the 3 green, 2 seem to be the same color and one more lime green - it's hard to tell).
Thanks to anyone who can solve this mystery....

Here's what I have for the early signal unit: White/blue stripe is the right front, green/white stripe is the left front, green is the right rear, yellow is the left rear, green is the brake switch and blue is the flasher. You might also try to "google" wiring diagram for turn signals on a 53 Ford.
