i am a rather new owner of a 51 ford v8 custom deluxe tudor. At a recent car show a fellow approached me about purchasing some parts he has from a 50 ford that were from a car his late dad owned. I don't really need any of the parts now but thought it might be a good idea to buy them if i can do so reasonably provided these parts are interchangable with a 51. Items are engine heads, generator, transmission w/o.d. , radiator, intake maniforld, and some misc side trim. My thought is that these parts are interchangable but would like some confirmation before i go any further. thanks. Tom

Buy a parts book. They are available on e-bay.

Can't tell you about the side trim, but the mechanical's listed should work. Having said that, I don't see the wisdom in purchasing anything that you don't need. Heads, manifolds, etc. are long-life items. The generator might not be any better than the one you have. Radiators can be in any condition, and your's might be better than the one offered for sale.

If it was me, I'd wait for something to fail, and then start looking. So many of these 60-year old components can give up the ghost at the most unpredictable time, you would be better off addressing the problems as they arise, rather than stockpiling parts. Many of us are guilty of this thinking,
and we will leave our widows with a barn full of stuff that will sell for 10 cents on the dollar.
