My '36 pickup has a locking spare tire that doesn't open. I have put a few quarts of every kind of oil with no results. I don't know which key that I am to try in it, the ignition or the door? I may not even have the right key for that lock? Any ideas? Bill

Bill, the locking cap on a pickup was an accessory and usually had it's own key. I suspect you do not have the correct key for it.

I'd suggest that you take it to a locksmith and see if he can make you a proper key and/or get it unlocked for you. That's what they do. Bill Brown '34 Cabriolet

I guess I will have to let the lock smith have a go at it. It looks like the spare has never been off the truck, it is a Firestone with no wear that I can see, so this has a history. Bill 36 pickup 47 COE
