Contemplating the purchase of a 51 v8 with auto trans. Anything special to look out for on this car beyond the obvious areas of concern? Thanks.

Tierod: You might link up with the "Shoebox" website, and you might want to PM Supereal, as he has some experience with the 51 air-cooled Fordomatic. My brother bought a 51 convert new, and drove the cr*p out of it until he traded it for a 57 Ranch Wagon. If it survived Bro's driving, it must have been pretty tough.

check the steering box were it mounts to the frame, I owned on of these 51 many years ago , and steering box bolts came loose ,not good, my 3 cents 37RAGTOPMAN if you want a restroed 51 CONVERTIBLE let me know, a friend has one just done, in original FORD blue,3 speed stick.
