Topic: 37 Water Pumps/ 36 Radiator ReInstall

  Hi V-8ers,
I have my Radiator,Radiator Grille and Water Pumps all out. It's a 36 car with a 37 engine. I think that they should go back in the following order:
1. Water pumps
2. Radiator
3. Lower Hoses while the Radiator is still loose
4. Radiator Grille

I'm open to corrections.

Thanks,
Bruce/CT

  That's the procedure I'd follow.
Use stainless steel bolts on the internal pump mounts to make it easier if you ever have to remove them.

I got them from the local fastener specialist here in Calfabulous.
If you take the old bolt with you to someplace that sells stainless fasteners,it's an easy match.

Ace Hardware has a terrific selection of stainless bolts where I live.

Stainless bolt inside the water pump is a good idea, but always use anti-sieze compound on any stainless steel bolt. I learned the hard way with a stainless fine threaded bolt for my bumper brackets. Totally destroyed the nut and bolt when I took it apart without anti-sieze compound.
