I'm rebuilding a 55 ford pickup and want to use a 52 tailgate. Can anyone tell me if the two are interchangable....thanks...

Sacramento Vintage Ford shows three different tailgates.1948-early 50, early '50-52 and 1953-72. All three tailgates have obvious differences. If the overall dimensions of the '52 are the same as the '55 you may be able to make it work.They all use the same bottom hinge. The upper latch on the 52 is in a different location than the 55, but that bracket could be moved. Call Sacramento Vintage at 1-916-853-2244
