Topic: EMAIL SCAM????

I just had an email pop supposedly from Dave Rasmussen of v8ford accessories. The email address matches the one in the 2011 Roster. It is a request that I make contact because he is in Scotland, lost his wallet and needs (me) to send 2000 pounds...just as a loan. I have called Dave's number and left message. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this?

  Disregard.....This is an old scam.

But, if you'd like, you can send me the 2000 Pounds.

It's got scam written all over it....it's the typical scenario.

I got one using Dave Rasmussens email address as well. It is definately a scam, it appears that someone got hold of someones V8 Club email list and is working the membership. We also had one go around supposedly from one of the members of our RG.

I had someone hack my e-mail and sending out mail that looked like it was originating from me. After having my computers checked with antivirus and scanned, I found out the solution was to change my password.

Someone hacked Dave's e-mail and this is why those e-mails were sent out. It's a Trojan virus that attacks the e-mail and sends out junk to anyone in the address book where the attack takes place. Dave is aware of the problem and now has to clean up his computer. It's a shame that we have to be victimized by scumbags.
