Earlier post I got wrong photo with post, can someone identify if the handle in that post is Ford glove box handle? In this post please look at the lock & keys that should have been in earlier post.

Bob, it would be much easier on everyone if you'd dance with the girl you brought to the prom. Multiple posts on the same question just won't do. Find your post, then respond to the last entry. The post will then magically bump to the top of the list.

Looks to be a ignition/steering column lock.
It would help if there was a side view.

with out dimensions and more pictures it is impossible to tell, Studebaker also used HURD locks and I am sure more autos, that I do not know of,
the HURD locks on FORD did not say Hurd on the face, only on the keys,
post more pictures, use e-mail mode, it will download easier,
hope this helps 37 RAGTOPMAN

37 RAGTOPMAN, thanks for responding. That's all I really needed to know; if it's not a FORD part that's all that really matters to me.

I bekieve that the cylinder is a replacement Ford ignition lock cylinder. Ford had Hurd on several cylinders including the 36 Ford cylinder shown below.

well I standed corrected, I have a nos in my 37 and it does not have HURD on, maybe only later replacements had this on them,???
and different years had different ones,
but anyhow, they all look the same,so you would have to measure and compare it to a FORD one to be sure, the cam on the back of the cylinder makes a big difference,

Don, thanks for responding. In a way that would make sense because I have a '36 Ford & when I bought I got a box of miscellaneous parts with it. The dimendions of the cylinder are as follows: Length 1" Diameter 3/4"

Bob, Now that you have given us a side view, I can say for sure that the cylinder is a replacement for a 36 locking spare tire cover mechanism....Not an ignition cylinder.

Don, checked the spare tire lock on my '36 and it does look like the one I posted. Thanks for the help, may put the spare up for sale. Bob
