Topic: 34 Pickup Cowl Vent

Is the recess/gutter that the cowl vent closes into stamped into the cowl or is it individually replaceable? There is some serious rust on the under side viewed from inside the cab that I would like to correct. Dr. Supereal, he of the fathomless body of knowledge, will probably respond and tell me to open my wallet wide for a whole new cowl.

Thank you (I think). I'm not an expert on the '34, but most, if not all, of the cowl vent recesses I've seen are stamped as a part of the cowl. That area is susceptible to rust, as water collects there. A competent body shop can rebuild it. I had some repair done on the cowl of a Model A because those cowls are scarce and not reproduced. The '34 is popular with the rod guys, so someone else may know if cowl pieces are made.

Suspicion confirmed. Thanks, Supreal. (I think.)
