Topic: 1935 SPARE TIRE LOCK

  Hi,

Advertised for a 35 Spare Tire Lock cylinder assembly and received 3-4 responses including one that had a NOS lock cylinder. I am quite impressed with the responses received from the members.

Thank you all.

Now, I have a question. My 35 Spare Tire Locking Hub Cap appears to have had the “FORD” script on the oval lock cylinder cover painted blue at one time. The groove the cover cover fits into also appears to have been painted blue.

Is there someone around who “restores” the painted areas ?

Also, is there a specific paint color code for the blue paint ?

Thanks !!

  Hi,
Did you possibly come past a 1936 DELUXE Spare Tire Lock with Key plus Cap?
Thanks,

Allen, If you have some dark blue paint left on the cap you can go to you local automotive paint store and have them match it. Actually Walmart has their own brand of spray paint and I have found it is almost an exact match for the Ford blue. It's a bargain at 99 cents a can.
