h*llo can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the control arms in length between 41 and 48 i changed my motor and now wipers go from park half way on windshield the throw is not enough wiper should swipe the complete windshield ? hope this makes any sense paul

The 41/42 arms are different from the 46-48 control arms.

The motor for the 41 fits only the 41, the 42 motor only fits the 42 , the 46/47 motor was changed in 48.

The length and attachment to the wiper motor appear to be different in the parts catalog.

If you have the 41 motor and the 41 wiper control arms, you could have the arms connected to the wrong pin of the wiper motor.

In several years Ford used Trico and King Seely. 41 was one of those years. Which do you have?

  Paul,

I don't have the measurements of the arms. It sounds like you have the wrong motor for your car. It would be easier to find the correct motor or have your motor rebuilt, than find arms that will work with your motor.

The control arms for any year are difficult to find and then when you find them, they may be too worn out to use. The arms were not replaced as often as the motors and the motor manufacturers made replacements for years after the cars were originally built.
