Looking at my windshield wiper motor I noticed that the left side has a long nipple just like the right side, but only the right side has a rubber hose attached to it. Shouldn't the left side nipple have a hose attached to it as well? The opening in the firewall is too small for two hoses to fit through,so where would the other end of that left side hose attach to?

Most wiper motors only have one hose connected to them. They have a valve that switches the vacuum to the paddle. Tom

A connection to the vacuum motor that doesn't have a tube attached is often the vent to the atmosphere, depending upon the model and make of the unit.
