Topic: 47 Ford 59 A-B Engine

I'm was looking at a 47 59 A-B engine and it has the 59 and a casting number on the transmission bell housing. On the top of the engine where the intake sits there are some numbers and a #16 with a circle around it. These are at the right rear of the engine in the machined surface. Any idea what these numbers are for? I don't have any numbers on my 48 engine.

it sounds like a engine rebuilder marked this engine to keep track of how many he did and for warranty purposes he could tell when and who bought the engine,
if you check the bore it most likely be oversized,
have seen similar marking on engines,
I have one metal plate that was installed on the back of a engine that was rebuilt in the NETHERLANDS.,I removed the plate and still have it,the engine was installed in a car,but I believe it was rebuilt for a tank, for WAR WORLD WAR II
and was stored for years in a warehouse
this is my 3 cents worth 37RAGTOPMAN
