Where can I find the metal tab used to place month/year state registration tags on, when vintage licence plates are used. I saw several of them at St. George this year.

Not sure what you are actually looking for. However here in Connecticut the same plates were used for a number of years in the 30s and 40s. These had slots in the corner and metal tags with the year on them were placed on the plate each year when you renewed your registration. If you intend to run your car with year of manufacture license plates you will need the proper tags for the year. They should be available from the same people who deal in vintage license plates.

Happy hunting.

I don't use the validation stickers on my Year of Manufacture (YOM) plates... I think they look dumb. I keep the stickers in the glove box with the registration. If a cop wants to hassle me about not having stickers on my YOM's I can produce same and attach them to the plate.. Maybe I will get a fix-it ticket, however, the cop would have to be very low on his daily quota or just plane C.S.
Oh.. to respond to the question.. Calif issues the tab holder when you register a set of YOM plates.
