Need help on installing seat belts on my 1941 Ford Coupe Sedan. I know how to install but not sure exactly where to position the outboard anchor. Thanks.

rogbell, the belts should be aligned in as much a straight line as practical from the floor mount up over the seat and around the occupant. This would be in generally a 45% angle, but taking into consideration the interference with the foot room in the rear. The mount should be used with large fender washers, but if your floorboard is very rusty, you may need additional support.

We install the anchors using wide "fender" washers under the floor pan. It is not recommended that the anchors be fastened to the frame in case the body separates from the frame in a crash. We locate the anchors so the belts, when threaded between the seat cushion and back go straight down and a bit forward under the seat assembly. You may have to locate the outboard anchor a bit inward to clear the frame, but the spacing isn't critical.

As a general rule of thumb on the spacing the anchors should be spaced at least 15 inches apart.
