Where can I find the vin # on frame for a 1937 5 window coupe or any other part of the vehicle ?
Thank you

On the top of the left frame rail near the steering box. Also two additional places on the top of the left frame rail visible after removing the body. See http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_serialnumbers.htm
for more than you ever wanted to know. Also stamped on the transmisson housing but this location will not be accepted by most DMV's since it is common to replace the transmission.

Carefully clean the top of the left frame rail between the firewall and the front crossmember and you should find it. You should see a star at the beginning and end of the number something like *18-12345678*
If it can't be found due to rust it also exists on the same frame rail about in the middle of the frame front to back and on the kick up over the rear end. Those of course are only easy to look for if the body is off the frame. Good luck!

Thanks....found it after cutting through multiple layers of paint and a coat of filler that was used to smooth the frame, without ithe number for Pa DMV TO VERIFY, I would be in a bind to get it Pa plates or even a Pa title even though I have a good Ohio title from the fellow I purchased it from.
New to the group so I appreciate your timely response.
