How does the rear seat, seat and back cushion stay secured in place?

In my '47, there are two metal straps on the back of the cushion's spring frame. The top hooks into the bulkhead, and is fastened with two large sheet metal screws at the bottom.

OK Super, the metal straps are they on the seat cushion or the back cushion? My 40 has something like that on the back cushion that I assume attaches to the back seat wood surround, but I haven't noticed anything that attaches the seat cushion to the back cushion or floor. By the way, does you 47 have a wood board on the floor that the seat cushion rests on? If so, what are the dimensions? i.e. 1X4, 1x6, 2x?

I am sending some pics of the rear floor area of my 42

The straps are on the back cushion. There is no wood under the seat. It sets on the metal riser. I'm not familiar with the '40 convertible enough to offer more.

Just like Super's 47, the 40 back rest has two metal 'straps' that hang over the wood board that the top well materiel is nailed to.
On the bottom of the backrest are three brackets integral of the spring (cushion) assembly. With three bolts, these are fastened to tabs welded to the floor.

The seat rest pushes beneath the back rest and is located upon two dowels that are scr*w*d into the board that runs between the B pillars. That board serves as a riser for the seat cushion as well.
