Topic: 1941 Brake Replacement

I am in the process of replacing all the brakes on my 1941 tudor. I have worked on alot of brakes in my life but I must admit ,this is the first time for this type. I have the old ones off and the left front new one back on. I have not tried to put the drum on as I am unsure how to set the cams on the bottom. The book refers to the arrows on the nut. Do these have to be exactly in the same orientation to each other or can they be in different locations. I know that the cams turn in opposite directions. Am I on the right track. Of course I did not really look close when I removed them.

Any help or info would be appreciated,

Curt

The anchor bolts at the bottom of the backing plate usually have a dot on the head of each. Often, they don't need to be adjusted. The markls indicate the high side of the eccentric. To adjust them, turn the anchors until the marks face each other so the drum can be installed. With the drum in place, turn each bolt until the drum is locked, the back it off so the drum can be turned freely. Then hold the anchor and tighten the lock nut.
